changing the subject, a little

Here in the land of sun and fun
flowers and flowerpower,
I'd just like to reflect on how different California is to the midwest , where I usually reside.
It's sunny here in berkeley ,
where I'm on vacation,
From the humdrum, workaday world ,
that my life has become.
I'ts sunny now , though this morning cloudy,
as I walked a few miles , from oakland to berkely, just looking at the beutiful old california houses ,
and the flowers , miles of beautiful flowers.
everyone has a garden,
like it's a competition ,
to see who can grow the best flowers,
but everyone would win, as far as I'm concerned.
they don't have gardens like this , in the midwest , where I'm from,
where I'm always trying to escape from .
The long, cold , dark winters,
that never seem to end.
the hot , hot summers , where you just want to stay inside ,
with the air conditioning on.
in the winter , you stay inside 'cause it's too cold.
In the summer , you stay inside 'cause it's too hot .
I'm tired of being inside.
In northern california , they have earthquakes , or so I hear on the news
I've seen the pictures ,
of the '89 earthquake,
that did a lot of damage , destroyed the bay bridge
flat as a pancake.
But when I come to the bay area , I usually get good weather , at least a few days.
the sun is inviting ,
as the tide by the ocean.
San francisco
with it's 90 degree hills ,
and multi colored houses.
I can never get enough of it's beauty.
And even when my legs are sore
from walking it's ninety degree streets,
I want to see more.
It still amazes me .
see ya nextime.
